Scottish Spurtles

A Spurtle is a Scottish kitchen utensil used for stirring Porridge, Stews and Broths. The rod like shape ensures that Porridge can be stirred without forming lumps
It is customary to use the Spurtle in the right hand and stir in a clockwise direction
My Spurtles are hand turned using Beech or Sapele. Each Spurtle is decorated with a Tartan ribbon
Due to the handmade nature of this item size and design may vary from the photo (lengths range from 18cm to 25cm approximately

Caring for your Spurtle:
Do not leave soaking in water. I recommend washing and drying immediately after use. Retreat the Spurtle with Vegetable oil occasionally
